MVP says this about the Uplink: "Nestled into the perfect sweet spot of understability for a wide variety of arm speeds, the Uplink is destined to take its place among the great line-shaping midranges. With flight numbers of 5 | 5 | -3 | 0.5, the Uplink will be carving touch anhyzers or sweet hyzer-flips through the woods for experienced players. Lower arm speed players will find the Uplink to be an extremely straight and controllable midrange — something they can learn the game with. Whether you’re looking for a disc to help your scrambles and approaches, or something to complement your finesse touch game, the Uplink has you covered. Flight Metrics
Speed
The velocity required to reach a disc's optimal flight path. Range: 1 to 15.
Glide
The measure of lift generated by a disc to stay aloft. Range: 1 to 7.
Turn
The velocity, relative to the speed of the disc, required to cause the disc to turn with the direction of spin. Range: +1 to -5.
Fade
The low-velocity stability that causes a disc to hook at the end of its flight. Range: 0 to 5.
The Uplink is a workable yet quite understable midrange.
I bag a beaten up Neutron Soft Uplink, and find it quite useful for long, high backhand turnovers and touchy forehand scrambles that need to hold turn or flip up straight with very little power and some hyzer.
I really hope MVP runs this mold in Eclipse 2.0 plastic again. A more stable Uplink would be a nice slot in between very understable and straight miss.
Used for patent pending backhands or other situations where I need a straight shot from an awkward stance. A bit too understable to really lean into unless you put it nose up. Does flatten out a bit if given the height. Neutron soft is an amazing plastic.
Love this flippy mid. It’s a bag staple for the woods. Nothing like it for shaping a gentle hyzer flip or a more-power hyzer to turnover shape. Or anytime you need putter-plus distance but can’t manage a reach back or run up. This won’t tolerate a full power flat shot, but you have other discs for that.
For an understable disc, the MVP Uplink surprisingly does not want to turn and burn. This makes the Uplink an incredible disc for advanced and professional players that want a very understable midrange. I use this disc for hyzer-flip to turnovers. This disc would also work for rollers if thrown with power and a flat-to-anhyzer angle. I would definitely recommend this disc to anyone of any skill level.
