Helpfulness
No better attachment for retrieving out-of-reach discs
Oct 22, 2024
Have had it for over a year, and purchased it because the attachments for the Palum disc retriever were useless (triangular trap) or close to it (single & double hooks).
Attached the M5 version of the Maxdisctance attachment to Palum's telescopic metal rod, in a variety of situations. This include the bottom of a pond, in a drainage ditch, and in a swamp.
Big surprise was this weekend, when an MVP Glitch landed in heavy brush. Too many thorns to wade, even with jeans, so I was resigned that I would have to replace the putter. Used Maxdisctance to pluck the disc out of the brush. Took some force, because the attachment got tangled in the brush, but it wouldn't let go of the disc.
When the disc is dry, best to wet the suction cups with a few drops of drinking water, which most of us carry.
Achilles Heel is the fragility of the Palum telescopic rod. Arcs heavily with this attachment, and it's just a matter of time before it break. Long-term, get a carbon fiber version. But cost is an issue, and you have a metal, this is a great compromise.
Perfect!!

Hard to find item in stock, fast shipping, great communication, smooth transaction.
I have tried several different disc retrievers and this is by far the best. Even in murky water you can hunt and peck with this retriever. I have personally saved a couple of disc that would have been lost causes.
This suction attachment doesn't suck.

The best disc retrieval attachment on the market. Attaches perfectly to my old extendable rod and works much better than the forks/loops/hooks that came with it. Great for underwater retrieval (even in deeper ponds/lakes), but suction cups need to be clean of dust and dirt for best adhesion. I like SnakeDog's idea of putting a bag over it to keep it clean...great idea.
Works better than the original Maxdisctance retriever he ball is actually bigger

This thing works like a charm, it does help for it to be wet. However i have retrieved several discs with it just in my first time taking it to the course. I transfered the locking nut on my DD Disc retriever and worked every time. Press firmly and lift slowly to make sure the disc is attached then youre golden.
