Innova says this about the Valkyrie: "In lighter weights gives new players extra distance. Lighter weights also give players extreme range when thrown downwind, while maximum weights can give excellent upwind distance. The Valkyrie’s high speed turn and flight characteristics make it great choice for long range turnover shots and rollers."
Flight Metrics
Speed
The velocity required to reach a disc's optimal flight path. Range: 1 to 15.
Glide
The measure of lift generated by a disc to stay aloft. Range: 1 to 7.
Turn
The velocity, relative to the speed of the disc, required to cause the disc to turn with the direction of spin. Range: +1 to -5.
Fade
The low-velocity stability that causes a disc to hook at the end of its flight. Range: 0 to 5.
This is a great disc, not hard to throw at all and I think It’s a pretty good speed for all skill levels. Very predictable flight and has been a staple in my bag. I bag a champion and a dx so I always have one in case I lose one.
I took Halo Star plastic. And it didn't suit me. It fades more than I expected. But I'm an amateur. I recommend taking it only to those who are sure that it suits their hands ;)
The Valkyrie has been a surprise to me! It has a fairly straight flight off the shelf. Glow Plastic not so good. Would be 5 out of 5 if I didn't buy it for a glow round. Innova needs to up the glow plastic game.
This was my first disc. My dad bought it for me at a Play It Again Sports, when I was six, before I had even heard of disc golf. It is my go-to driver for any shot between 250' and 350'. This disc will hold any line you put it on, and is very predictable in the wind. I like it in the Champion plastic because it is very stiff and skips well. I would not recommend this disc to a beginner in Champion, but I think it would work well for a beginner in DX or Pro.
