Discmania says this about the Origin: "The Origin is the small diameter midrange driver with big potential. The smooth rounded feel of the nose provides an excellent feel in hand paired with a gentle false bead to add just a touch of stability. Players will enjoy the tacky plastic that Neo offers and superb gliding ability when thrown at any speed.
Origin is fairly understandable at high speeds, making a perfect ally for long turnover shots and precise, laser straight lines when thrown with control. It will thrive in tailwinds, wooded fairways, and calmer conditions out on the course. You will be blown away at how far this disc will fly compared to it’s flight numbers. If the fan favorite Essence had a mid-range relative, this is it."
Flight Metrics
Speed
The velocity required to reach a disc's optimal flight path. Range: 1 to 15.
Glide
The measure of lift generated by a disc to stay aloft. Range: 1 to 7.
Turn
The velocity, relative to the speed of the disc, required to cause the disc to turn with the direction of spin. Range: +1 to -5.
Fade
The low-velocity stability that causes a disc to hook at the end of its flight. Range: 0 to 5.
The Origin is a flippy midrange that can go an absolute country mile for people with moderate armspeed. Personally, I find it somewhere more dramatic than the -1 turn, but still intuitively controllable. When thrown on hyzer it flips up and has a modest turn that finishes into an S shaped fade that approaches 280 feet for me. When thrown flat, the disc flips into a hard turn and will ride it all the way to the ground. Feel being subjective as it is, I am a big fan of how it comes out of the hand.
Straight - but with a tiny bit of stability at the end. So, won't give-in to a little wind, won't flip over. I've had a comet, Dart and Shark and I like this better. Distance is a little easier than the others. (I still carry a rubber Dart though - when you do want it to keep going under stable)
