Helpfulness
Barbarian Meat Hook
Apr 2, 2021
Could just be the run that I’m throwing but this is, in no way, a stable disc. It’s an absolute meathook.
As an Axiom Pyro fan - I actually like it. Great for flexing and shaping shots, especially forehands. Great for overhand shots. Tons of over stable movement.
Not in any way a stable disc. Not to be used for distance. Dumps like a truck. If circumstances were different, and the flight numbers claimed it to be the ground magnet that it is - 5/5 stars.
Not at all true to the numbers

After looking around, it seems that some people get Barbarians that are basically 7/5/-0.5/2 and they love them. And then other people get Barbarians like mine. Conservatively, I'd put the disc I received at 7/2/1/4. The rim definitely feels like a 7 speed thickness, but the wing is so high that you are immediately suspicious that this is either way more stable than you were thinking or maybe you just received the completely wrong mold and it was just stamped as a Barbarian. I throw 340 to 375 with a neutral 9 speed, for reference. So an Undertaker or Lots or CD2 or whatever. I don't think I threw this more than about 220. And I like very OS fairways. Sexton Firebird. Kastaplast Stal. Discraft Raptor. There are some great ones out there. This was not that. Just instantly fades right out of the hand and also drops out of the sky. If the numbers were 7/2/1/4 and everyone's Barbarians flew that way, I'd give it a good review - because then it would be doing what it is advertised to do. It's not that it's a useless line to have in your bag; it's that there is no excuse for the flight being this far off from the numbers. So 1 star.
Besides the flight though, the disc rim does feel right at 7 speed thickness and the armor plastic has a nice feel to it, so those are pros. It'll probably take a long time to see about the durability though, since I can't see myself throwing this very often.
