Helpfulness
My final approach disc (and FH)
Mar 26, 2022
Went thru Zones, Harps and Tactics and FINALLY found the Kea. Wow. Not only is it a really cool bird in real life (look up some youtube videos about this land-dwelling, carnivorous parrot), it’s an amazing approach disc. Super reliable and beefy in the Cosmic and Atomic. Straighter longer in the Strata and Magma. I use this for FH approach shots and it always goes right where I tell it. Don’t have to worry about turning it over. And don’t have to worry about a headwind. It’s like a get out of jail free card. And the more I beat it in I can even use it for BH drives off the tee. I also use my beat in Magma for headwind putts. So money.
Beautiful approach disc

Hands down love this disc! I bought it to fill that overstable forehand approach slot, So honestly, I didn't think I would use it a great deal of times in a round.....but after throwing this, It has become my go-to approach disc. Definitely a meat hook of a midrange, but that gives you that reliable flight you want in a approach shot. the flat disc works great for forehands, but also flies great on a backhand. Highly recommend it!
Very Predictable Midrange

I have two Keas, one in atomic plastic and one in cosmic plastic. Personally, I like the cosmic better because it's a little bit more flexible and doesn't get as much of a skip. I use the Kea primarily for forehand upshots because once it hits the ground, it's not going anywhere. It's very predictable, overstable, and flat, making it a good forehand disc. If you love the Discraft Zone but want something a little faster, this disc delivers.
