The Hydrogen: "Hydrogen is the first disc from Løft Discs. Designed to be the straightest flying putter on the market, it raised more than €200,000 on Kickstarter for it’s first release.
Hydrogen is a beadless putter with a rounded edge and a very unique flight. Its design has been optimized with our one-of-a-kind flight path simulator to fly as straight as possible while still having a regular shape, a small diameter and a smooth grip. It will hold any line you put it on, giving “point and shoot” a whole new meaning - both for putting and throwing.
With such an honest flight, this disc is also a great tool for learning to control your angles as well as general form."
Flight Metrics
Speed
The velocity required to reach a disc's optimal flight path. Range: 1 to 15.
Glide
The measure of lift generated by a disc to stay aloft. Range: 1 to 7.
Turn
The velocity, relative to the speed of the disc, required to cause the disc to turn with the direction of spin. Range: +1 to -5.
Fade
The low-velocity stability that causes a disc to hook at the end of its flight. Range: 0 to 5.
Feels weird in hand. Love the flight though. They have been my putter for over a year now. I don't foresee changing. They are not my favorite throwing putter, even in Alpha plastic.
So, I bought this disc as a joke disc to just play around with, I mean come on...it's a 1 speed 2 glide disc.....what in the world would you use this on????
I now own 5
I primarily throw this disc for approach shots and off the tee for short straight holes rather than putting. To throw, this disc requires a super clean low wobble release, and near perfect angle control. You could say that about almost all putters but this one is especially sensitive. Maybe it's because of it's odd shape relative to other golf discs, not sure. I say this not as a negative, if you can master this disc it gives you a shot that you can't get with any other disc which is a perfectly dead straight shot in the 150-200 foot range. Since there is no turn and no fade, you also get a perfect crescent shape on hyzer and anhyzer with minimal skipping.
