Innova says this about the Shryke: "The Shryke is an easy to throw, very long range driver for a wide variety of players. A mild high speed turn puts the Shryke in glide mode, which along with its high aerodynamic speed, give it incredible distance. The low speed fade is also mild, which makes it easy to keep on the fairway. The Shryke is similar to our popular Tern but faster and slightly more high speed stable."

Phases of Flight
Low-Speed Fade |
---|
As the disc slows and spin decreases, the disc pulls out of turn and begins to hook at the end of flight |
High-Speed Turn |
The aerodynamic profile turns the disc with the direction of spin during the high-speed phase of flight |
Forward Push |

Helpfulness

I received a Shryke several years ago in my player pack for a disc golf tournament. I can throw it further and more accurately than my other distance discs. With the fear that I would lose that disc some day, I bought 3 different plastics, hoping one would fly as reliably. The Gstar was the one that flew closest. The others flew less reliably.
Big Distance

The Star Shryke is my favorite distance driver. I use it for max distance. It flies with a little turn and has nice fade on the end. I can put whatever angle I want on it and it will hold that line most of the way. If you are looking for more distance, you should buy a Shryke.
Easy Distance!

The Shryke to an intermediate or below player is like the Destroyer to a professional. It is a workhorse distance driver. Despite it being a speed 13, the Shryke doesn’t need too much arm speed or snap to get it flying for 300-400 feet. This gives it reasonable control versus a disc demanding a harder rip. It should be any developing player’s first distance driver. Once you can fully turn over a Shryke, you’re ready for a Wraith.
