Discraft Sled
Main Features
Discraft says this about the Sled: "The Sled brings a new feel to the Discraft lineup. A rolled thumb track adds comfort and control in-hand, while the rounded wing and nose feel similar to the Luna and Roach. It's the kind of disc that begs to be thrown often and trusted when it matters. At 3| 2|-1| 2, the Sled is a true utility weapon for forehands or backhands, and it can even earn a spot as a go-to putter.
Expect an easy, high-speed flip, clean point-and-shoot control, and a subtle fade at the end of the flight. With its slower speed and minimal glide, the Sled is built to hit the line, land soft, and stay put."
FEEL AND PROFILE
When checking out the side-profile, you'll immediately notice the Sled's defining feature: a rolled groove-top thumbtrack. This concave, Berg-like top naturally eliminates the dome, resulting in a slightly puddle-topped profile that reduces its glide. The bottom half, however, features a smooth, rounded wing that will feel very familiar to fans of the Roach or Luna.
FLIGHT
With flight numbers of 3 | 2 | -1 | 2, the Sled is highly predictable. The exceptionally low glide (2) means the disc wants to get to the ground quickly, limiting the chances of sailing past the basket and ensuring a softer landing. Despite the slight high-speed turn (-1), it handles torque well. When thrown flat, it exhibits an easy, straight push with a subtle flip before settling into a gentle, forward-pushing fade rather than a dumping finish.
ON THE COURSE
Because of its distinct shape and lack of glide, the Sled shines as a utility approach option—much like the Kastaplast Berg or Streamline Range. It’s an excellent tool for precision forehand flicks, touch backhand anhyzers through tight woods, and upshots requiring a soft landing with minimal ground play. If you like the feel of a thumbtrack or want a reliable, point-and-shoot approach disc that holds its line from release to landing, the Sled is a great mold to try.
