Discmania says this about the Vanguard: "Vanguard showcases a new level of reliability in our fairway driver lineup. The blunt nose will feel resemblant to an FD1 or FD3 but has slightly smoother margins on the edges and rim on the molding, allowing it to sit more comfortably in the hand. A Vanguard meant to be thrown with force and relied upon when you need it most. A more powerful throw is able to carry forward on a rope and finish with moderate fade and steeper angles of throws can execute a hyzer line or anhyzer that returns reliably with ease. "

Good hand feel.

Good hand feel. Special swirly S blend is my fav DM plastic. The disc is too stable for me. Dosn't fly like a thunderbird or 9502. Flys like a firebird or 9403. Another OS discs that I have so many of and not really useful. Not board flat but pretty flat and dumps, doesn't have the glide of say a teebird.

fits into the slightly stable mix of 9 speeds, straighter, more pushing finish than even a sexton firebird.
handles torque for back and forehand slight turnovers quite well. versatile stable 9 speed.
of note, I have a metal flake color glow horizon as well and it is definitely not as stable.
