With a slight hyzerflip line you’ll get the best distance potential out of this disc while still remaining on a fairly narrow line for a 12-speed disc. Tern vs. DDX... my go to distance driver

I’ve been playing a little less than a year and rarely driving much more than 300’ RHBH but I’ve been getting good consistency for a long time despite the lack of distance which I attribute largely to consistent releases out of the hand with less grippy Champion style plastics for driving (Champion, C-line, Opto, 750, proton, etc.).
For starters, this is the most comfortable driver I’ve ever held! Prior to the DDX, I was throwing a 167g Champion Tern as my go to DD because it was consistently going right where I wanted it. I had been fishing for a slightly more stable compliment to the Tern for a while, and I was not intending to kick my Terns out of my bag with the DDX (oops!).
Unlike the Tern, the DDX is a disc that will not let me throw w/ sloppy form and thus it
continues to force a better game and more awareness of form w/ all my discs.
My first several throws with the DDX were terribly inconsistent. If angle integrity is off at all, the DDX will let you know, or if you drop your arm at all late in the throw rather than following through on a plane, it will turn over and let you know to STOP DOING THAT!
After a disappointing introduction, the DDX is now more fun and just as consistent and also a little farther than my Terns were. Yes the Tern is very forgiving, but that is not favorable in terms of improvement.
I don’t love this disc @ max weight, but if you play in a lot of wind, I could see the drop in distance and bulky feel being worth it.
